He is Multilingual. He holds a PhD in Applied Geosciences from the University of Toronto, a MS in petroleum engineering from Moscow Gubkin Institute of Petrochemical & Gas Industry, and a MBA from Heriott- Watt University. He is a registered professional engineer. |
Dr. Abdul Sattar
Dr. A. Satter worked for Texaco for 30 years before he retired in 1998 to form his consulting company, Satter & Associates. He has 40 plus years of diversified experience and expertise in reservoir engineering, reservoir simulator development and applications, water-flood and EOR. He previously worked as well for other companies like Amoco Petroleum Company and Frank Cole Engineering, besides teaching at universities in Canada and Bangladesh. Throughout his career he has been very active in technology transfer, teaching and training. He initiated and was responsible for developing and managing Texaco's successful Integrated Reservoir Management Training Program in the 1980s. He offered teaching and training in areas of computer assisted integrated reservoir management, water-flood asset management, reservoir performance analysis, Enhanced Oil Recovery Processes, Basic and Advanced Reservoir Engineering, and Reservoir Simulation Fundamentals. Some of his training courses were taught in USA and internationally in countries like Algeria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Indonesia, Mexico, Middle East, Nigeria, and Venezuela. He participated in and led reservoir management projects in the US, UK, Cameroon, Denmark, Indonesia, Nigeria and Trinidad. He published numerous papers in reputed technical journals and wrote four books on topics of reservoir management, water-flood management, reservoir engineering and simulation, which were published by Pennwell Publishing Company. He is a distinguished member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Legion of Honor and Life Member. As SPE’s distinguished lecturer he offered lectures around the globe in 1996-97 and 2002-2003 on topics like “Integrated Reservoir Management” and “Asset Management throughout the Reservoir Life Cycle". He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dhaka, MS in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a doctoral degree in Engineering Science from the University of Oklahoma. |
Ted Leshchyshyn
Ted Leshchyshyn has 35+ years of petroleum industry experience working on conventional and unconventional resources (oil shale, shale oil, tight sands, heavy oil and oil sands). He worked for E&P companies such as Shell USA, Occidental USA, Petro-Canada; service companies like BJ Services, Halliburton, NOWSCO, Fracmaster; consulting company like Knowledge Reservoir and R&D organization like Alberta Research Council. Dr. Leshchyshyn’s key competencies are in reservoir management, mini-frac testing, fracture design and stimulation applications, production optimization, operations management, reservoir simulation, thermal recovery processes (steam drive, steam stimulation, SAGD), log and core analysis, pilot design, well test analysis, bottom-hole tool design, geomechanical modeling, technology transfer, training and mentoring, software development and R&D. He is considered a leading authority in Canada and USA for designing fractures in tight sands, shale oil (Elk Hills, Monterey shale) and low permeability rocks. He worked on various international projects besides those of Canada and US. He has several publications. He holds a BS in Chemistry and a PhD in petroleum engineering both from the University of Alberta, Canada. |
N.D.J. Rao
An experienced Geophysicist with almost 53 years in oil exploration, Worked in ONGC on various capacities in seismic data processing, interpretation and data acquisition. He was actively associated in interpretation of major ONGC hydrocarbon discoveries, such as BOMBAY High. He has contributed for more than a decade with Computech International, Calcutta as a head of Seismic Processing Centre. He is currently associated with Alkor Technologies Ltd., for the last 9 years at Hyderabad on Seismic Interpretation and Oil Field evaluation projects and is simultaneously a consultant and advisor for Saturn Energy Solutions for Oil & Gas.
He has taught many courses on Seismic data processing, development geophysics and interpretation at ONGC, teaching faculty at Delta Studies Institute, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and Dept. Of Geophysics, Osmania University, Hyderabad on Seismic Data processing for the last 4 years. |
VV Rao
He has completed M.Sc in Applied Geophysics in 1960 from Andhra University and spent over 33 years in ONGC on various capacities in UP, Gujarat and Assam.
He had retired as Head of exploration group from Ankleswar asset, Gujarat in the year 1995.
Has vast experience in log data acquisition, log quality control, and log analysis, and has received training in initial years in France from IFP and ELF/ERAP in log interpretation.
After his retirement, he had worked as consultant for many oil companies including Selan, Reliance Industries Limited, and Heramec Ltd. He was actively involved in publishing (along with Sri. P.B.Raju, Co-Author) a book in the year 2010 entitled “Geophysical Well Logging and Petroleum Reservoir Evaluation”. |
NC Nanda
He worked for Oil & Natural Gas Commission, and made outstanding contributions in exploration for hydrocarbons in Land & Offshore basins. As a consultant, apart from consulting for various E&P companies in India and abroad Mr. Nanda has taken up the up trekking task of promoting awareness about two significant issues: first: the need to remain grounded in our science and not let it suffer for quick data interpretation; second: to share his valuable experiences with younger geophysicists and motivate them to take on future challenges.
Earlier (1987), his tireless efforts in accurate and detailed definition of reservoirs earned him the National Mineral Award by the Government of India. He is currently a visiting faculty member at two universities in India and edifies seismic interpretation techniques to postgraduate geosciences students.
He received an Honorary Life Membership from Society of Petroleum Geophysicists, India, in 2006, and a similar award at the GEOINDIA 2008 for his hand-outs to the science of geophysics.
